Naples Beach is Ideal for family vacation packages, the retired, couples and Florida beach weddings.

We Should Say Naples Beaches

When I arrived in Naples the first beach I went to was the famous Naples Fishing Pier Beach, or if you want to use the correct name Naples Municipal Beach & Fishing Pier (Naples Pier).

The Naples Pier is also famous for its sunset, and vast crowds can be seen on the pier at that time of the day.

I then discovered there were a number of Florida beaches associated with Naples, not only the Naples Municipal Beach and Pier but a few other areas are:

  • Vanderbilt Beach
  • North Gulfshore Boulevard Beach
  • Lowdermilk Beach Park
  • Clam Pass Beach Park
  • Delnor-Wiggins Pass
    State Park

Ok, a couple are parks, but you might enjoy these also, especially if you have a young family and the children don't want to stay on the beach for as long as you do. Its a good diversion.

Naples Municipal Beach & Fishing Pier

This had to be one of my favorite places in Florida. This is not only my opinion but of a lot of other tourists. It is simply one of the most beautiful beaches of the Florida Gulf coast beaches.

We really have to say something about the Naples Municipal Beach Pier itself because it is part of the Naples Municipal Beach.

The Pier is quite old and extends someway out into the Gulf of Mexico, 1,000 feet to be exact, and it is one of the favorite places to go in Naples.

My wife and I went there almost everyday to watch the sunset and the dolphins swimming by the pier. If take photos, when you are on vacation in Florida, you will not get a more spectacular scene, and you will come home with some amazing photos.

While you are there why not try your hand at fishing, no license required. You will see lots and lots of fishermen really enjoying themselves with their fishing line in the sky blue water while the sun shining down.

You will most likely be driving when you go to Naples Beach, will don't worry there is plenty of parking around the area, usually at the west end of most residential streets. These streets comprise about 26 blocks of parking.

The Naples Beach Pier itself is located at the west end of 12th avenue South where plenty of parking is available.

Oh yes ladies, if you want to do some shopping you are only two blocks from the pier to the posh downtown area. Am I really saying leave your husband in command of the kids on the Naples Beach, that is up to you, but probably an easy choice?

Food and drink can be found at the Naples Fishing Pier but besides that, there is very few places on this beach for food and drink.

However, can this really be a bad thing, you won't be spending a lot of money on the beach at retail shops crammed with tourists, buying expensive meals at Naples restaurants or forever getting the kid's ice creams. In other words, there is very little commercial activity, which is lovely for the setting you are in.

However, there are restrooms, picnic tables, showers (many of the entries to the beach will also have a shower facility) and a snack shop and the pier is always open 24 hours a day.

You really will spend some time on the pier itself and sunning yourself on the lovely sparkling sandy beach while looking at the palm trees and watching the calm water.

Oh there is no charge for going onto the pier or Naples Beach, great for the purse and family holidays.

There is another Naples beach and pier video on my main Southwest Florida page. If you haven't seen the video, have a look at that one too, it is longer and also a great video.

Vanderbilt Beach

Vanderbilt beach, which is several miles long, is 9 miles north of Naples and another of the Naples Beaches. It is a very popular with the tourists due to its prime location in the North Naples area and has many hotels as well as beautiful homes on the beach.

The beach is very wide with sparkling white sand. The sand is soft and you will find some of the clearest water along the Florida Gulf Coast beaches. You just want to take off your flip-flops or sandals and walk with your bare feet along the sand.

During the tourist season, it can be more difficult to find a spot on the beach, but there is plenty of sand for everyone.

If you go off tourist season, as my wife and I did, there will be more than enough room to spread out with your loved ones or family.

We went in November and the beach was almost empty, but the sands were white and sun was very warm.

The parking is free if you have a beach parking sticker, otherwise it is about $8 a day.

Unlike the Naples Beach, it is only open from sunrise to sunset.

On the plus side there are facilities of restrooms, showers, handicap access and picnic tables. There are lifeguards, a boat ramp, equipment rental and an observation tower.

You are also close to the shops and restaurants of North Naples.

Getting there is simple, just head west on the Vanderbilt Beach Road in Naples until you come to the entrance of the beach.

For a Naples Beach Vanderbilt beach is one of the best.

North Gulfshore Boulevard Beach

The access to this beach is a beautiful walkway between the Florida vacation homes, the condominiums of Seagate and North Gulf shore Boulevard.

Parking is available in the county beach parking lot at the end of Seagate Drive. You must have a beach parking sticker in order to park free otherwise you will have to pay for parking.

Is this beach for family beach vacations, probably not, it is a beach where newly married couples get their pictures taken at sunset.

This is ideal as this Naples beach has white sand, seashells and rocks and makes the perfect setting for those newly weds.

Once again, you can see beautiful sunsets.

This is not a 24 hour beach but is open from 8 a.m to sunset.

Lowermilk Beach Park

Lowdermilk Park is another great Naples Beach.

You come to it by going north from the Naples City Beach.

To start with it has metered and unmetered parking and the beach is a very short walk from the parking area.

There are volleyball courts and just for your convenience a concession stand. Don't worry there are rest rooms and showers as well as a gazebo.

Something more for the kids is that there is a playground facility on the landscaped area next to the beach.

On this Naples beach, you can get together with your family or friends for a beach party or picnic and if the sun gets too hot there is lots of shade for relaxing.

Lowdermilk beach is definitely a family friendly and a favorite Naples beach for the entire family. If you are of the older generation it might just bring back memories of what going to the beach was like years ago.

Clam Pass Beach Park

Clam Pass Beach Park is also a good beach to go to as it offers beach equipment rental, food and drink.

If you are parking, there is about 175 parking spaces. However, it is three quarters of a mile from the beach on the boardwalk.

Not to worry, you can hop on the continuous tram service which is free.

Why not bring your own food and have a eat in the picnic area. Most importantly there are rest rooms in the area.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

Here on this Naples beach you can fish, sunbath, swim and do some boating. You can, also, scuba dive, snorkel, kayak and have that picnic.

There is a boat ramp and dock and the picnic area and pavilion holds a 100.

The Beach and park are open between 8 in the morning until sundown every day of the year, including holidays.

Here is a Very Good Video of Delnor-Wiggins Pass

I hope you have enjoyed this information about the Florida Beach resort of Naples, but more importantly if you go there

Have a very good vacation and enjoy yourself, I know you will.
